What would happen if you entered a room and find a bulb lighting without wires attached to it, or better yet Tvs flickering without being attached to any wire, well apparently according to Witricity this is what our grand children will experience, or grand grand children.
"We're going to transfer power without any kind of wires," says Dr Hall, now Chief Technology Officer at WiTricity, a startup developing wireless "resonance" technology. This is according to CNN.
When you here this you probably think that they are putting electricity in the air, well you are wrong. They are putting magnetic field in the air.WiTricity builds a "Source Resonator," a coil of electrical wire that generates a magnetic field when power is attached.If another coil is brought close, an electrical charge can be generated in it. No wires required.
They assure us that the magnetic field is completely harmless and the same technology used is used in wireless routers.It is projected that in the future wireless electricity will be as popular wireless internet. The question you are asking your self is does this realy work? well yes it does.Witricity have already proven this by powering laptops, TVs and cellphones by attaching resonator coils to batteries . If all goes well soon smartphones will charge in your pocket as you wander around, televisions will flicker with no wires attached, and electric cars will refuel while sitting on the driveway.
